We brought the High Atlas collection from Morocco to Key West shortly after the September earthquake. Each piece is hand-chosen to represent the best of this rug style, created for centuries by Amazigh women. These rugs demonstrate skill and tradition. 

This rug combines a shag and flat-weave technique rarely seen. We especially love the zig zag motif through the center as well as the subtle pattern woven into the top and bottom, all using the plant based indigo dye. Chemical indigo dyes have overtaken the market so we we were thrilled to come across this collection of coveted natural indigo dyed rugs.

Incorporated into the design are motifs to ward off the evil eye; thus, they are also considered to be protective. 
These beautiful neutral and indigo rugs are both tribal and organic, harmoniously composed.
