This beautiful old currency piece was made by the Chamba tribe. It could function as bells and would be used before ceremonies to clear the air of any bad spirits.  It could have been spent one 'piece' at a time or as a whole.  Because of the sculptural quality of the handle and the multiple 'bells' on the ring, the value ascribed to this piece would have been very great.

This authentic piece shows a lovely patina, was well used, and has a graceful sculptural curve to the handle.
