An exemplary piece used in Ibo ceremony.  This hand puppet with an articulated jaw is colored with white pigment typical of this tribe and has the deep rich patina of use.  If you look closely, you'll notice the neck is covered by black textile, attached to the chest and jaw.  This piece has some age - the movable jaw still functions and this is a rare and striking piece.
