Metal currency was used to show a person's status within their tribe. This beautiful piece, over 100 years old, was worn during ceremonies as a display of the owner's wealth. It was worn around the neck and features the crocodile, a reptile that appears often in tribal mythology. These currency pieces were exchanged amongst families, often during important events such as weddings.
